Rosary was at 6:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe, Texas. Burial was in Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, Texas. Malachi died Friday, December 26, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born September 29, 2003 in Muleshoe to Juan Gabriel Maldonado and Maria Elena DeLeon.
Malachi loved his family, enjoyed playing pool and riding his motorcycle. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Elva “Nana” DeLeon.
Malachi is survived by his mother, Maria DeLeon of Clovis, New Mexico; his father, Juan Gabriel Maldonado of Amarillo, Texas; his grandparents, Tommy DeLeon of Bovina, Texas and Efrain and Elena Maldonado of Dalhart, Texas and great-grandfather, Gil DeLeon of West Camp, Texas; his sister, Angel Abeyta of Maxwell, Texas; and his brother, Gabriel James Maldonado of Maxwell, Texas.
