Ramoncita "Yaya" Gaytán Jordán de Ávila

Ramoncita "Yaya" Gaytán Jordán de Ávila, de 75 años, de Friona, Texas, falleció el sábado 31 de agosto de 2024 en Friona. La Misa de Entierro Cristiano se llevará a cabo el miércoles 4 de septiembre de 2024 a las 2:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Teresa en Friona, con el padre Ramón Molina Mora y el diácono José Correa oficiando. Los arreglos y servicios de cremación han sido confiados a la funeraria Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home de Hereford. Ramoncita nació el 22 de diciembre de 1948 en Salinas de Jaco, Chihuahua, México, hija de Paz Gaytán y Paula Jordán. Ha sido residente de Friona, Texas durante más de 28 años. El orgullo de Ramonicita fue criar a sus siete hijos y cuidar de su esposo Laurencio Ávila durante más de cincuenta y siete años. Fue una encantadora ama de casa toda su vida. Le gustaba cocinar y hacer todo tipo de mermeladas, jamoncillos, tortillas de harina y pan. Le encantaba hablar con su familia y amigos de México y ver sus novelas.

Le preceden en la muerte sus padres, Paz Gaytán y Paula Jordán; hijo, José Alonso Ávila; el hermano Miguel; y hermanas, Juanita, María, Manuela, Margarita.

Ramoncita "Yaya" Gaytán Jordan de Avila, 75, of Friona, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Friona. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona, with Father Ramon Molina Mora and Deacon Jose Correa officiating. Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. A Family and Friend Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 1:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with a rosary at 6:00 P.M.

Ramoncita was born on December 22, 1948, in Salinas de Haco Chihuahua, Mexico, to Paz Gaytan and Paula Jordan. She has been a longtime resident of Friona, Texas for over 28 years. Ramonicita's pride was raising her seven children and caring for her husband Laurencio Avila for more than fifty-seven years. She was a lovely housewife all of her life. She enjoyed cooking and making all kinds of jam, jamoncillo, flour tortillas, and bread. She loved to talk with her family and friends from Mexico and watch her novelas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paz Gaytan and Paula Jordan; son, Jose Alonzo Avila; brother Miguel; and sisters, Juanita, Maria, Manuela, Margarita.

Those left to remember and cherish her memories are her husband Laurencio Avila, of Friona, Texas; children, Juana Armendariz and husband Eduardo, Antonio Avila and wife Maria Erika, Mauricio Avila and wife Isabelle, Santa Cecilia Luis, and her husband Victor Alejandro all from Friona, Texas, Vidal Ruiz of Mexico City, and Roque Rivas and his wife Kenia of Amarillo Texas; grandchildren, Jesus Armando, Mauricio and his wife Juanita, Katheryne, April, Antonio, Juan, Kimberly, David, Jose Laurencio, Jonathan Alexander, Daniela Ivan, David Ivan and his wife Wendy Jasmin; great-grandchildren, Iran Jokebed, Iker Ivan, Roman Baruch, Zaid Carim, Briana Scarlet, and Brian Mauricio; brothers, Benito Gaytan and his wife Maria Elena of Camargo Chihuahua Mexico, Jose Gaytan of Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Jorge Gaytan and his wife Mary Alonso from Kansas City, Missouri; and sister Maria de Jesus Gaytan of Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Trinidad "Trini" Arias

Trinidad "Trini" Arias, 80 of Friona, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Friona. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona, with Celebrant Gregory Bunyan officiating. Burial to follow at Friona Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 1:00-8:00PM with rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Trinidad was born on June 4, 1944, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jesus and Eloisa (Burciaga) Tena. Trinidad, or what most people knew her by, "Trini" has been a longtime resident of Friona, Texas, for over 20 years. She took much pride in raising her six children and caring for her husband up until his death, she was employed at one time with the Friona Independent School District. Trini enjoyed watching her novellas, taking her beloved Chihuahua, "Chata" on daily car rides, watching her favorite football team, Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, playing at the casinos, and traveling. Her happiest moments were when she and her daughters and sisters would take a once-a-year girl trip to Ruidoso. Trini was very close to her siblings and loved them all very much, but her greatest love and joy were her children and grandchildren. Trini battled a lot of storms in her life, but her daughters say, "our mom was the storm, hurricane Trini." She was a spirited, energetic, bubbly, full of life mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Trini's dynamic personality and vivacious smile and presence will be missed by all those who loved her deeply.

Those left to remember and cherish her memories are her children, Liz Carlson and her husband Curtis of Iowa, Ortencia Mendez and her husband Joe of Hereford, Rey Arias and his wife Emma of Lubbock, Steve Arias and his wife Pati of Hereford, and Jimmy Arias of Muleshoe; 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; 4 brothers, Enrique Tena, Joaquin Tena and his wife Inez, and Miguel Tena all of Mexico, and Jesus Tena and his wife Olaya of Hereford; 3 sisters, Aurelia Ortega and her husband Luis, and Ana Chavez and her husband Carlos all of Hereford, and Lourdes Montaño and her husband Gustavo of Hereford, and her beloved Chihuahua, "Chata".

Trini will be joining her parents, her husband, Raydesel Arias, her son, John Arias and her sister, Lenor Ortiz in heaven.

Jeremy Daniel Campbell

Jeremy Daniel Campbell, 38 of Elko, Nevada, formerly of Friona passed away August 25, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, 10:00 AM at Victory Church in Friona with Pastor Robert Kerby officiating. Cremation arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Jeremy was born July 11, 1986 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was a 2005 graduate of Friona High School, a 2006 graduate of WyoTech Automotive School. In 2007, he began working for what is now Nevada Gold Mines, LLC. He was a diesel mechanic there for 17 years becoming a foreman. Jeremy loved fishing, riding on his 4-wheeler, and working on his 1986 GMC pickup. He was a beloved son, brother and family member and will be missed.

Jeremy is now with his Poppa and Nana- J.D. and Bettye Glidewell, Grandpa- Lee Campbell and Granny Strickland.

Jeremy will be missed everyday by his parents- Randy and Deborah Campbell, brother-Bryan, sisters-Rachel and Alicia, grandmother- Elwanda, aunts, uncles, cousins, his life friend-Megan Stumpp and family, and many great friends.
