Best Days Market — A reminder of the upcoming Best Days Market on Saturday, September, 28th from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The vendor pop-up event will take place at 510 W. 12th Street (next to Los Arcos) in Friona. Night Out — The annual National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1st. This event honors all our first responders in Parmer County. A free meal will be served, prizes will be drawn for, and everyone will have a chance to meet their first responders.

Landmark Bipartisan Bill — On Monday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill authored by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) to dramatically expedite semiconductor manufacturing plant construction. The Kelly-Cruz bill, which removes burdensome hurdles to achieving environmental reviews and permits for microchip projects, previously passed the Senate unanimously and now heads to the President’s desk for his signature. The new law would expedite semiconductor construction and unlock tens of thousands of jobs for Texans.

Congratulations to Rick and Ximena Villarreal of Amarillo, Texas on the birth of their daughter, Evie Daniela Villarreal.
She was born at Northwest Hospital on September 21, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. She weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. Grandparents are Richard and Elida Villarreal of Bovina, Texas; and Victor and Alma Gomez of Sunray, Texas.
