Fred Bailey

Fred Bailey, 72 years of age passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 21, 2024, in Friona. A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Friona, with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service starting at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brett Hoyle officiating, burial will follow at Friona Cemetery. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Fred was born to his loving parents, James Fredrick and Mary Catherine (Moize) Bailey on January 13, 1952, in Hamlin, Texas. Fred was a long-time Friona resident, graduating from Friona High School class of 1970. Fred later got married to his love Beverly (Anthony) Bailey and they got married on April 17, 2004, in Friona. Fred had a strong work ethic and worked many years self-employed; he cherished his time and memories spent with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews, teaching them many lessons such as how to fish. Fred’s priority was to serve the Lord and put him first.

He enjoyed playing his guitar some and he loved to spend most of his time outdoors. He loved watching old western movies and loved John Wayne. Fred was definitely his father’s son.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Beverly Bailey of Friona, Texas; his children, Michael Elam and wife Shelly of Amarillo, Texas, Montessa Moore and husband Steven of Calhan, Colorado, Nikki Morris and husband Bryan of Amarillo, Texas, Lori Mangum of Fort Worth, Texas, Kelli Heinecke of Fort Worth, Texas, Paige Gatlin and husband Jeff of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Cody Elam and wife Halie, Casey Elam, Brooklyn Elam, Keylan Moore and wife Natalie, Kinzie Moore, Madison Moore, Chase Elam, Hayden Azbell, Taylen Aaron, Deven, Kaitlynn, Dakota, Sienna, Casyn, Dylan, Hailey, Jared; his great-grandchildren, Carsen, Kairi, Mason; and his siblings, Cathy Jackson and husband Cary of Dimmitt, Texas, Willie Bailey and his wife Sally of Kemp, Texas.

Those preceding him in passing are his parents, James Fredrick and Mary Catherine Bailey, his late wife Vera Mangum; his brother Johnny Woodson; and his grandson, Alec Mangum.

Johnny Lynn Valdez

Johnny Lynn Valdez, 65 of Littlefield, formerly of Friona passed away September 23, 2024 in Littlefield. No Services are scheduled. Cremation arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Johnny was born November 8, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Joe Edward and Janice Marian Carthel Valdez. He was a long-time heavy equipment operator. He loved weekend sports, especially bowling and his fast cars. Johnny loved small towns; he embodied small town America.

He is preceded in death by his father Joe Edward Valdez.

Those to mourn his passing include his mother-Jan Saiz of Littlefield, 2 brothers-Jeff Wade Valdez of Littlefield, Joel Wayne Valdez and wife Kathy of Sandia Park, New Mexico, 2 sisters-Jonece Daylene Long and husband Bo of Amarillo, and Julie Deann Mason and husband Sean of Lubbock, 2 step-brothers-Daniel Saiz of Clovis, Bobby Saiz and wife Julie of Pampa, 1 step-sister-Samantha Knispel and husband Billy of Wichita, Kansas, nephew-Austin Mason, nieces-Suzanne London and Jennifer Garrison.

Adelynn Rose Cervantes

Celebration Services for Adelynn Rose Cervantes, infant daughter of Ivette Roman and Roberto Cervantes, Jr. of Friona will be held 3:00PM Saturday, September 28, 2024 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Deacon Jose Correa, officiating. Cremation arrangements by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.

Mourning with her parents are her grandparents Rosa and Jose Roman of Friona and Diane and Roberto Cervantes, Sr. of Amarillo, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
