Anthony Dewayne Holland, age 79, of Eubank, Kentucky, formerly of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, June 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born Friday, June 15, 1945, in Coleman, Texas, he was the son of the late Harvey Holland & the late Bessie Ellen Lee Holland. His loving wife, whom he married Friday, December 30, 1983, is Nancy Peterson Holland. Dewayne was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of Lancaster Baptist Church. Dewayne previously owned D. Holland Homes, and worked in real estate, appraisal, and banking. Dewayne also served as the Garrard County Chamber of Commerce Director for eight years and was a member of the Garrard County Industrial Board. Dewayne enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog (Peanut), golfing, fishing, and camping.
In addition to his wife, Dewayne leaves behind three children, Kristin Bailey (Cody) of Leander, Texas, Christopher Holland (KoKa) of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Jeffrey Holland (Julie) of Paint Lick, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Andrew Holland, Arnold "A.J." Holland, Kendyll Bailey, Camryn Bailey, Elliot Holland, Blake Holland, and Jace Holland; three brothers, Ray Holland (Sharon) of Brownwood, Texas, Randall Holland (Carey) of Mullin, Texas, and Preston Holland (Lisa) of Midland, Texas; step-mother, Nancy Holland Snodgrass of Brownwood, Texas; three sisters, Lena Day (late Jerry) of Brownwood, Texas, Latoyia Sawyer (Jim) of Arlington, Arizona, and Anita Gibbs (Leon) of Alvarado, Texas; sister-in-law, Esther Bailey (Louis) of Stanford, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Dewayne was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Holland and James Howell; and two sisters, Peggy White and Shirley Adams.
A Public Visitation was held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Lancaster Baptist Church.
The Public Funeral Service was held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, at the church. Bro. Harold Best & Bro. Matt Cooke officiated the service. The Funeral Service was livestreamed on Dewayne's memorial page of the funeral home's website.
A Public Graveside Service, with Full Military Honors and Burial, was held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. The Graveside Service will also livestreamed on Dewayne's memorial page of the funeral home's website.
Andrew Holland, A.J. Holland, Craig Anderson, David Land, Kalem Grasham, and Scott Bolin served as Active Pallbearers. Elliot Holland, Blake Holland, Jace Holland, Kendyll Bailey, and Camryn Bailey served as Junior Pallbearers. The Fits & Misfits Sunday School Class at Lancaster Baptist Church served as Honorary Pallbearers.
