Let It Ride - Double thanks to the carnival that was in town last week. Besides providing great entertainment and fun-filled rides for the kids, they also were a magnet for rain clouds! Like moths to a flame and tornados to trailer parks, thunderstorms seem to seek out carnivals in Friona. Most of the area received over an inch of rain which was really needed!

Check It Out - The summer reading program at the Friona Public Library is underway. Last Thursday, Wisconsin Johnson thrilled and amazed over 100 kids with his magic show. See photos below and preview of next week's show.

Flag Day - The flag of the United States is a symbol of freedom before which we pledge our allegiance. The flag's 13 red and white stripes represent the 13 original colonies and its 50 white stars on a blue background represent the 50 states. Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th each year.

Gas Buddy - According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Texas was priced at $2.49 while the most expensive was $3.79 per gallon. The national average price of gasoline fell 10.0 cents last week, averaging $3.40 per gallon. The national average price of diesel fell 6.7 cents last week and stands at $3.75 per gallon. "I expect additional declines ahead of July 4 for both gasoline and diesel prices," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
