Price Increase - As of March 1st, we have increased the subscription rate for the Friona Star newspaper. Since Covid, we have had numerous increases in the cost of newsprint including a temporary shortage a couple of years ago. Also, there have been 2-3 postage increases every year. The new rates are $40 for in-county subscribers, $50 for out-of-county subscribers, and $30 for E-Star online subscribers. The price at the newsstand will remain at $1 and as usual we do not charge to publish an obituary. A reminder that the Friona Star office is located at 1215 Elm Ave. (north entrance) and the phone number is 806-250-5200 or 806-265-5200.

Days of Our Lives - A lot of fun National Days upcoming this week. We start the week off with Leap Day which only shows up every four years. Sort of like politicians. Saturday is Old Stuff Day which is the same day that the roll off dumpster is open. Perfect timing. Multiple Personality Day is Tuesday. You can enjoy the day by yourself or with that special friend. You may even invite the whole gang over for hide & seek. Good luck. And to cap it off, Wednesday is Dentist's Day. This day is near and dear to my mouth. Being a recent victim of a tooth extraction, every day has been Dentist's Day. Rinse and spit.
