Chieftain Band Marches On — Drum Majors Rafael Rocha, Karen Morales, and Nicholas Gutierrez proudly display the trophy that the FHS Band earned by scoring a Division I (Superior) rating at the regional marching contest last Saturday in Amarillo. This marks the second year in a row that the band has advanced. Next up is the Area Contest this Saturday. The Mighty Chieftain Marching Band, under the direction of Chris Rackley and assistant Ben Monk, will perform at 12:45 p.m. at Lowrey Field in Lubbock.
The Chiefs Go Marching On — Good luck to the Mighty Chieftain Band as they compete in the Area A 3A Marching Contest on Saturday at Lowery Field in Lubbock. Performance time is 12:45 p.m.

Halloween Events — Friona Banking Center will host their annual sausage cookout from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in their parking lot. Proceeds donated to local charity. The Volunteer Fire Department will serve free sausage wraps at the fire station beginning at 6:30 p.m. The annual Trunk or Treat event will take place at Prairie Acres from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Save The Date — St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Bovina is having their 64th Annual Turkey Dinner on Sunday, November 3rd. Serving time is 11:30 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. (Texas time) in the St. Ann’s Parish Hall on 3rd Street in Bovina. The dinner will consist of Turkey & Dressing, Creamed Potatoes & Gravy, Green Beans, Homemade Bread, Cranberry Sauce, Dessert, and Tea & Coffee. Donations will be $15.00 for adults and $6.00 for children under 6. Take-out plates will be available at no additional charge.
