Billy Sifford

Billy passed on from this life on October 15, 2024. He was born August 2,1935 in Hammon, OK to Herman and Hazel Sifford. Billy married Florence Amelia Dean September 20, 1953. Billy is preceded in death by Florence, his faithful wife in 2022, his parents, and his brothers Lee and Wayne.

Billy is survived by sons Kenny (wife Gail) of Bentonville, AR and David of Brownfield, TX. Billy and Florence have 2 granddaughters Michelle Downs (husband Ricky) and Amanda Stephenson (husband Chip). Six great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sister Peggy Thompson of Virginia.

After Billy and Florence were married, Billy farmed and ranched in Friona, TX for Florence’s grandparents. When son Kenny and family moved to Arkansas in the early 1990s, Billy and Florence soon followed and remained there until they passed, to be closer to their granddaughters.

Billy was a devoted grandfather to his granddaughters. He and Florence would go to extreme lengths to give them memories they would cherish for the rest of their lives. He was also someone who yearned to learn new things. Other than farming, Billy made jewelry, had a career in real estate, flew planes, built trampolines, played a number of instruments, was a master at woodworking, worked on cars and farm equipment and many other trades were mastered by this hungry mind.

Billy will be so greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a strong man with a stern voice, firm handshake, and soft heart. He would walk into a room and know half of the people in it, if not more. He was respected and trusted by those around him and entertained by his humor. He loved his dogs, Penny and Jan.

Special thanks to Circle of Life and Highlands Nursing Home, who took exceptional care of a loved and valued family member.

A service is being planned for a later date.
