Traveling in Style — The Friona Chieftain Marching Band will travel to Canadian on Friday and to Amarillo on Saturday and will be doing so in style with a brand new Fine Arts utility trailer. The gift was presented to Friona ISD on Tuesday by Dennis & Connie Slagle and Greg, Jamie, Shelby & Sophie Lewellen in memory of Jason Slagle.

Save The Date — Prairie Acres will host Friona Trunk or Treat again this year. Administrator Jeff Procter said, “It has been a great success the past couple of years and our residents enjoy seeing all the little spooks and heroes looking for a little treat.” The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Halloween, which is Thursday, October 31st.

The Chiefs Go Marching In — Good luck to the Mighty Chieftain Band as they compete in the Regional Marching Contest on Saturday at Dick Bivins Stadium in Amarillo. March time is around 4:15 p.m. The band participated in a contest at ENMU a couple of weeks ago and were selected as the Best in Class AAA, Best Marching Performance Class AAA and Best General Effect.

Flapjack Reminder — Friona Junior High is hosting a Pancake Supper Fundraiser on Tuesday, October 22nd from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Jr. High Cafeteria. Tickets are $10 each and proceeds will go to the Student Activity Fund. Dine-in only. Tickets are available from 8th grade students and at the Junior High office. 250-2788.
