Bobby Joe Mann, 97 of Friona passed away January 14, 2024 in Friona. Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday January 19, 2024 at the Union Congregational Church in Friona with Randa Reeves, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Bobby Joe was born October 3, 1926 in Iowa Park, TX to Daniel Parker and Jennie Laura Holder Mann. His parents, friends and family called him by his middle name Joe. Joe and Christeene Hurst were married in Clovis, NM on February 7, 1948. The love of his life passed away on January 11, 2023 just shy a month from their 75th wedding anniversary.
Joe served his country during World War II in the U.S. Naval Service. After returning home from the war, Joe joined his dad and brother farming in the Hub community. He worked for the Stowers family, building feed lots, and later working for Paco Feed Yard as a pellet mill operator.
Joe proudly served many years as a fireman with the Friona Volunteer Fire Department and was an original member of that department. He was also a member of the VFW 3280 in Clovis.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents- Daniel and Jennie, wife - Christeene, 1 brother Daniel Edward Mann, son-in-law- Mike Scott.
He is survived by 1 son- Joe Bob and wife Dale of Friona 2 daughters- Carla Sue Scott of Friona and Joy Bauer and husband Dwayne of Everton, MO., grandchildren- Michael Mann, Steven Mann, Christie Bauer, Pamela Hankins, Brian Scott, Mike Scott, great- grandchildren- Emma Hankins, Jessie Hankins, Loren Turner, Autum Turner, Lovel Scott, Patrick Scott, and Madelene Scott.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be send to Friona Volunteer Fire Department, Prairie Acres Nursing Home or the Friona Senior Citizens.
