Getting Noticed - The upcoming Cheeseburger Festival & Cook Off was featured in the June/July 2023 Texas Co-op Power magazine. The annual event was a "Pick of the Month" in the Travel & Events section. This year marks the 17th year of the "running of the burgers" and will be held on Saturday, July 15th at Reeve Lake and the Community Center.

More Cheeseburger Festival Fun - A "Bun" Run & Walk will be held on Saturday, July 15th from 7-9 a.m. You can pre-register through July 5th at the Nutrition Spot at 613 Main. Cost is $30 and includes a T-shirt. Registration after July 5th is $35. Proceeds will benefit the Created With Purpose Resource Center.

Graham Cracker Day - In the early 1800s, Presbyterian minister Sylvester Graham developed a slightly sweetened cracker as part of his "Graham Diet" program. They were made from whole wheat graham flour with added bran and wheat germs. He believed his snack would curb sinful cravings. Today, makers use bleached white flour and variety of flavors including honey, cinnamon, and chocolate.

Sirena Del Rio returned to the Friona Public Library on Wednesday to wrap up the "All Together Now" summer reading program. The programs this year included singing, dancing, crafts, magic tricks, and teaching kids how to work with others. Thanks to the library staff and the Friends of the Library organization for making our library so awesome.
