Christmas Sweater - Assistant County Treasurer Lucy Martinez won the Christmas Sweater Contest at the Courthouse last week in Farwell.
The Beat Goes On - Enjoyed the Christmas Concert performed by the Junior High Bands last week. Seven of the young musicians had recently earned All-Region honors. Symphonic All-Region Band members are Natalie Achor (Flute), Porter Gilley (Baritone), and Aylen Moreno (Tuba). Concert All-Region Band member are Bryan Cecena (Baritone), Roberto Corrales (Percussion), Fernando Moreno (Trombone), and Fernando Perez (Trumpet). See band photos on page 19.

Ag Deadline Reminder - Renewal only rolls around once every four years, so the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is reminding all agriculture producers that the Agricultural and Timber Exemption numbers they currently hold will expire on December 31st.

A Prairie Christmas - Kevin Wiseman leads the audience in singing carols as Santa and the Elves pass out the presents to the residents during the Prairie Acres Christmas Party last week. Carolyn Wiseman (just out of photo on the right) played the piano and Administrator Jeff Procter (far left) directed traffic. The dining area was completely full and attendees enjoyed Christmas snacks afterwards.
FISD names new AD - Elias Carrillo was named the new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at the Friona ISD Board of Trustees meeting Monday night. In the photo (clockwise) - Coach Carrillo, Hailey, Harper, Shelby, and Haidyn.
100 Wins - Coach Tim Ashlock was honored at the basketball game last Friday evening for reaching his 100th career win as a coach. He hit the magic number when the Chieftains earned a 37-25 road win at Amherst on December 12th. Congratulations Coach Ashlock!
