Welcome to Friona!!! - The Friona Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture welcomed Friona's newest business, Klassen Country Store, with a ribbon cutting ceremony last Friday. Peter & Helena Klassen (holding the scissors) are the owners of the meat market and bakery and they were joined by their children Adam, Willy, Justina, and Susanna. Also on hand were friends, customers, and chamber officials. Klassen Country Store is located at 1143 Highway 214 which is approximately 13 miles south of Friona past the Running Water Draw and back up the hill. Smokin' - members of the Friona Vocational Agriculture Association sold just under 300 smoked turkeys for the Thanksgiving holidays. Thanks to everyone who participated in the event which raised money to support local FFA and FCCLA students. NOTE: They will be smoking hams for Christmas this year. Order today!!!

Community Service - Great turnout at the Community Thanksgiving Service Sunday night with over 250 attending the event held at the Victory Family Worship Center. The service was sponsored by the Friona Ministerial Alliance and funds raised benefit those in need in our community.

Empty Stocking Fund - Donations are being accepted for the Empty Stocking Fund which provides clothing and a toy to local needy children. Donations may be made at Friona InterBank or given to project co-chairs Holly Campbell or Jyl Grimsley.
