The Texas Municipal League conference held in Dallas allowed city officials and staff from around the state of Texas to meet and confer on various municipal issues. Town Talk

It's a Wrap - Friona Banking Center will host a "Sausage Wrap" luncheon in their parking lot on Thursday, October 12th. Everyone is invited to drop by between 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and pick up a free meal. Donations will be accepted and will benefit a local charity. See you there!.

Prairie/Legacy News - Frankie Lindeman is the Prairie Acres Resident of the Month for October. The Employee of the Month is Elaina Procter, who works in the nursing department and joined the staff in June of 2022. The 3rd Annual Car and Craft Show is set for Saturday, October 7th. Purchase a floral subscription from the Floral Design Class and give the students the opportunity to get hands-on experience with real flowers. Election News - Longtime State Rep. John Smithee, R-Amarillo, announced Thursday his plans to run for re-election in the spring Republican party primary. Rep. Smithee serves District 86 which includes the following counties: Armstrong, Dallam, Deaf Smith, Hartley, Oldham, Parmer, and Randall. Rep. Smithee was first elected to office in 1984 and assumed office in 1985

It will be visible in parts of the United States, Mexico, and many countries in South and Central America. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. The main path (90% coverage) will be about 100 miles to the southwest of Friona.
