The Mighty Chieftain Marching Band scored a Division I (Superior) rating at the regional marching contest in Amarillo last Saturday. That qualifies the band to advance and compete in the area marching contest on Saturday, October 28th in Odessa. This marks the first time since 2012 that the band has advanced to the area round. Go Band!!!

Above are the winners of this year's "Be a Buddy Not a Bully" campaign. They each received the prize of a night out on the town which included $25 cash, $50 for Bubba's 33 in Amarillo, and 5 free cone coins courtesy of Dairy Queen. Reminder - The band booster pulled pork fundraiser will held on Friday, October 20 at the concession stand. They will serve from 5:00 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $10.00 per plate and includes a sandwich, chips, water, pickles, onions, BBQ sauce, and a peppermint patty mint. Shout out to the Friona Vocational Agriculture Association for cooking the pulled pork!

Pink Out Pep Rally - On Friday, October 20th, FHS would like to honor Breast Cancer Survivors and Fighters during the pep rally. Please email Ms. Roque at mroque@frionaisd.com if you would like to participate. The pep rally will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Let the booing begin - This year's Trunk or Treat event is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31st in the Prairie Acres parking lot located at 201 E. 15th St. in Friona. The annual event is sponsored by Prairie Acres/Legacy Pointe and the Parmer County Sheriff's Office.

Early Voting Schedule - Early voting for the Special Constitutional Amendments Election on November 7th starts next week at the Parmer County Court House located at 401 3rd Street in Farwell. Voting times are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays from Monday, October 23rd through November 1st. 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd and 3rd.
