Listen and Learn — Parmer County Retired Teachers and School Personnel will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13th at the Farmwife Kitchen. Those attending will enjoy a Dutch treat lunch and hear updates from guests, the county school superintendents.

Prairie/Legacy News — Sandra Lookingbill is the Prairie Acres Resident of the Month for September. The Employee of the Month for September is Elizabeth Romero who is the Activity Director and has been on staff since November of 1991. The Second Annual Car Show and Craft Fair is scheduled for October 1st. They are looking for vendors and "car folks" to join the fun. There will also be a 50/50 Raffle to raise money to purchase a handicapped enable minivan. Tickets will be available at the Maize Days booth. Two Alarm Sale — The Friona Volunteer Fire Department's "50 for 50" fundraiser drawing will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th at the Friona Volunteer Fire Department. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets can be purchased from any member of the Friona Volunteer Fire Department.
