Commissioners Court News — County Commissioners are currently working on new boundaries for the 4 precincts in Parmer County. One of the objectives is to allow all Bovina voters to vote in Precinct 2. Currently, some Bovina residents vote in Precinct 3. The Friona Star will publish the proposed boundaries in next week's paper. A final vote on any new map will not take place until the next Commissioners meeting scheduled for November 8th.

St. Ann's Annual Turkey Dinner — St. Ann's Catholic Church of Bovina is having their annual Turkey Dinner on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (Texas time) in the St. Ann's Parish Hall on 3rd Street in Bovina, Texas. They will be serving turkey & dressing, creamed potatoes & gravy, green beans, homemade bread, cranberry sauce, relish plate, desserts, and tea & coffee. Donations will be $12 for adults and $6 for children under six years of age. Take-out plates will be available at no additional charge. A quilt made by St. Ann's Society will be raffled off at the dinner.

Pay to Paint —The FHS Art Department is holding a Holiday Fundraiser to help raise money for supplies and activities for next year. For $40, the art students will paint a holiday scene on your business windows and then remove it after the holidays. This project will help the art students of Friona broaden their skills! If you are interested in participating in the fundraiser, contact Daniel Soltero at dsoltero@frionaisd.com or call (806) 584-1892. The deadline for signing up is Thursday, November 18th.
