Election Results - Unofficial Primary Election results are in. Among the winners were Ted Cruz (US Senator), Jodey Arrington for (US Rep./Dist. 19), and John Smithee (State Rep./Dist. 86). At the county level, Eric Geske defeated Jose Rojo for Sheriff. Complete results next week.

Band Note - The Mighty Chieftain Band traveled to Panhandle on Tuesday to compete in the Regional UIL Concert/Sight Reading Contest. The band received a 1 in Concert and a 2 in Sight Reading. Congratulations!

Prairie Acres News - Shirley Brazeal is the Prairie Acres Resident of the Month for March. Employee of the Month is Yvette Garcia. Yvette works in the Activity Department and joined the staff in June of 2006.

Pretty in Pink - March 9th is Barbie Day. In 1959, Ruth Handler created the Barbie doll and launched an American icon. Barbie's full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts, and she came with a full array of accessories. While toymakers mass-produced toys for years, before Barbie, none of them had adult features. Estimates place over a billion Barbie dolls have been sold worldwide in over 150 countries. In 1998, the Toy Hall of Fame inducted Barbie into its hallowed halls. As of January 10, 2024, Greta Gerwig's very pink fantasy-comedy "Barbie" (2023) has collected more than 636 million U.S. dollars at the North American box office, garnering a total of 1.45 billion U.S. dollars worldwide.

Eat to Live - It was announced at the senior meal on Monday that the average attendance was 50 for the meals served in February. Meals are served at noon each Monday and Thursday and the cost is only $6 and you don't have to do dishes!

Cereal...its whats for Dinner? - In an interview with CNBC last week, WK Kellogg CEO Gary Pilnick's told cash-strapped shoppers, who are spending the highest portion of their income on food than at any point in the last 30 years, to consider eating cereal for dinner. I have a better idea. A bread & water diet for everyone in Washington D.C.!
