Rosa Tienda, 89 of Bovina passed away December 10, 2024 in Bovina. Viewing was held Monday December 16, 2024 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with Rosary Services at 6:00 PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Mass of Christian Burial Services set for 11:00AM December 17 2024 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina with Father Rudolf Crasta as Celebrant. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Rosa was born August 30, 1935 in La Ascencion Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Modesto and Celerina Briones Romo. She married Roberto Tienda Sr. May 14, 1955. She was known as a very happy person with a smile on her face and a joke to tell. She loved knitting, crocheting, and cooking, especially her famous homemade tamales. She was a very active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina where she helped the Guadalupanas and the annual St. Ann’s Jamaica.
Rosa is preceded in death by her parents- Modesto and Celerina Romo, husband-Roberto Tienda Sr., brothers-Jesus Romo, Eleuterio Romo, Teresito Romo, and Modesto Romo Jr., sisters-Maria Romo, Celia Romo, and an aunt that was seen as a sister-Hermelinda Bazaldua.
Those to cherish her memories include 1 daughter-Celia Tienda of Bovina, 1 son- Roberto Tienda Jr. and wife Josefina of Lubbock, 2 sisters-Juanita Romo, and Maria DeLaLuz Romo, both of Monterrey, Mexico, 1 grandson-Antonio Tienda of Odessa, 2 great-granddaughters-Erissa Carrera and Emma Rose Tienda.

Roy A. Barraza, 77 of Bovina passed away December 15, 2024 in Amarillo. Viewing was at 9:00 AM, Wednesday December 18, 2024 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for 2:00 PM in the chapel with Pastor D. Jay Lewis, officiating. Military Honors by Volley for Veterans Honor Guard from Amarillo. Burial following in the Bovina Cemetery in Bovina, Texas by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Roy was born November 15, 1947 in Ackerly, Texas to Antonio and Maria Acosta Barraza. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He loved to work and was an extremely hard worker.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents- Antonio and Maria Barraza, 2 brothers-Moises and Fidel Barraza.
He is survived by his sister that he thought of as being very special-Antonia Barraza of Amarillo, and 1 nephew-Richard M. Barraza of Big Spring, Texas.
