Anahi Gonzalez, Magdalena Licerio, Destini Nava were named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Volleyball Academic 3A All-State Team for 2021-22. The Texas Girls Coaches Association selects Academic All-State Teams for volleyball in conferences 1A through 6A. Athletes and support staff must be seniors to qualify and must have a grade point average of 94 or above. The head varsity coach of the school must be a member of TGCA in good standing by the November 1st membership deadline for honors. Go Squaws!!!
Parmer County election reminder — County Clerk Susie Spring would like to remind everyone that if you want to vote in the upcoming county elections you MUST vote in the Republican Primary. That includes mail-in ballots. No Democrat candidates are running for Parmer County offices this year. Also, all early voting will be held at the County Clerk's office from February 14-18 and February 22-25 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The office will be closed on Monday, February 21st for the President's Day holiday.

Stock show special edition delayed one week — The special edition of the 85th Annual Parmer County Jr. Livestock Show has been delayed until next week (February 10). We have to print our special editions separate from the normal paper and we also have to work around Covid delays. We regret the delay but we want to get as many pictures of the kids in the special edition as possible. Thanks.

FHS Powerlifting teams made a great showing last Saturday at the Bobcat Invitational powerlifting meet in Dimmitt. The Squaws finished 2nd in the team competition. Trinity Ramos, Magdalena Licerio, and Reyna Arias won 1st Place in their respective weight classes. The Chieftains were the team champions with Mario Bautista, Jose Ticum, Aaron Rodriguez, and Jake Padilla capturing 1st Place in their respective weight classes.
