Thomas Fred “Butch” Barker, 77 of Friona. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of HANSARD FAMILY. Celebration of Life Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Sixth St. Church of Christ in Friona with Jeff Procter and Mike Hankins, officiating. Burial followed in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Butch was born April 14, 1943 in Clovis to Harold Fred and Una Ann Cobb Barker. After high school and college, he served in the United States Army in the 1960’s stationed in Germany.
Later in life, he married his sweet wife Martha April 28, 2000 in Friona. He worked for several area cattle feed yards and had been employed by NewTex Feed Yard for the past 20 years. Butch loved the outdoors whether it was fishing, gardening, or arrow head hunting, but mainly he loved to work.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents.
Those to carry on his legacy include his wife Martha of Friona, 2 sons-Billy Barker and wife Linda of Odessa, and Adam Barker and wife Lupe of Amarillo, 3 daughters Kristin Casey and husband Dean of Monahans, Leslee Floyd and husband Jason of Dumas, and Stormi Choate and husband Brent of Friona, 1 sister-Pat Blackburn and husband Keith of Friona, 2 brothers-Eddie Barker and wife Kim of Omaha, Texas, and John Barker and wife Vickie of Sonora, Texas, 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
